Job Description

The mission of the laboratory is to improve patient outcomes through materials science and clinical studies with an emphasis on total hip and knee replacements and novel therapies in the spine. Candidates for this position should be self-motivated, organized, and have an interest in orthopaedics. The major responsibility will be to assist in clinical and radiographic follow-up studies of total joint replacement patients. Several software programs are used for this purpose and training in their use will be supplied. In addition, assistance in surgical research is required. Training in surgical techniques and procedures will be supplied. The position also offers the opportunity to write abstracts and articles for various scientific publications.

Requirements

General laboratory skills are necessary, and good organizational skills are a must. Good computer skills, including, but not limited to, Photoshop, and the Microsoft Office Suite of Programs are necessary. Solid writing skills are a must as the job requires writing protocols, reporting on research results, and generating scientific publications. A BS or a BA in science is preferred. This is a great opportunity for college graduates seeking research experience prior to graduate/medical studies.
