Schedule: Full Time Shift: Days Hours: Job Details: The Psychiatric - Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (PMHCNS) provides primary mental health care to adults and emancipated minors. Care settings include inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient. The PMHCNS conducts assessments and designs, implements and evaluates therapeutic interventions. The PMHCNS provides psychotherapy and may have prescriptive authority with a collaborative practice agreement.Education:Minimum of Masters degree preparation as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the specialty of psychiatric - mental health nursing.Licensure:Licensed as a Clinical Nurse Specialist by the North Dakota State Board of Nursing. A collaborative practice agreement is required through the North Dakota State Board of Nursing for prescriptive authority.Experience:1 year in Clinical Nurse Specialist practiceorprevious experience as Clinical Nurse Specialist or RN in mental health.Skills:Basic life support certification within 480 hours of employment. Nonviolent crisis intervention training within 6 months of employment.Interpersonal Skills:Maturity and ability to establish good rapport with physicians, patients, public and staff. Maintains confidentiality. Capacity to deal with severely ill patients, and perform effectively in emergency and stressful situation.Hours of Work:Exempt position, on campus weekdays 8am to 5pm, during normal clinic hours; full time status, additional hours may vary depending on patient care demands. May require call.Other:Limited exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Limited exposure to infectious diseases. Potential exposure to mechanical, electrical, and environmental hazards
