Clinical Nurse Leader - Med/Surg
The Clinical Nurse Leader is a generalist prepared at the Master's degree level. The CNL role involves the holistic knowing of patients, enhanced communication among caregivers and lateral integration of care. The CNL should possess a specialized knowledge in horizontal leadership and is accountable for the management of care and the care environment. In addition to a generalist preparation, the CNL Med/Surg shall possess enhanced clinical skills in a Med/Surg unit setting and is responsible for a group of patients in that setting. The CNL is also responsible for a mix of staff ranging from RNs, LPNs and PCAs. The CNL shall establish a strong partnership with the mix of staff to deliver optimal care ensuring safety and quality outcomes with 24 hour accountability for the care provided by self and others to whom care is t based position, responsiblities include quality, processes and procedures, and education for a med/surg unit.
