We are a teaching and referral hospital that today provides a variety of exceptional clinical programs and services, including multi-organ transplantation, cardiology, oncology and physical rehabilitation services, maternity, neonatology and emergency/trauma are seeking a Clinical Nurse Expert to serve as a clinical leader for the EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT. MSN required. Current RN License in the State of Texas. Clinical Nurse Specialist or certification in specialty area required. Current CPR certification. (Instructor certification required within 6 months for BLS, ACLS)Must have 3 - 5 years in hospital nursing experience required. Experience as an educator preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint highly recommended. The advanced knowledge and skills required for this role include clinical expertise, evidence-based practice, collaboration, consultation, education, mentoring and change leadership. These are essential to advance the practice of nursing and the professional development of nurses. The specialized knowledge and skills are used within three major areas of focus: patient/family, nursing practice, and the organization/system. The Clinical Nurse Expert is accountable for collaborating with members of the health care team to design, implement, and measure safe, cost-effective, evidence-based care strategies. The Clinical Nurse Expert is responsible for maintaining current professional knowledge and competencies and contributing to the advancement of the practice of nursing at the unit/system, local, state and/or national and international lificationsUtilizes expertise to improve bedside nursing by providing consultation, education and mentoring for direct care nurses. Mentors staff to utilize evidence-based practice and to participate in nursing research. Provides formal and informal education for nurses and other health professionals. Designs and evaluates programs and initiatives that are congruent with the organization's strategic plans, regulatory agency requirements, and nursing standards. Responsible for coordination of in-service and educational opportunities for staff with a primary focus on Emergency Department staff needs. Centricity/QS is also included in educational scope.
