Since 1982, thePKD Foundation()has been promoting programs of research, advocacy, education, support and awareness in order to discover treatments and a cure for Polycystic Kidney Disease and improve the lives of all it affects. With headquarters in Kansas City, MO, we are currently seeking a local area Chief Development Officer to take our organization to the next level.
Chief Development Officer
As a member of the senior management team, you will have the opportunity to serve as a competent fundraising technician and an excellent organizational development specialist. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will work collaboratively with other senior leadership members. You will translate broad goals into achievable steps and help set and manage appropriate expectations.
Responsibilities include: · Handle detailed, complex concepts and problems and make decisions regarding management and development issues · Establish strong and appropriate relationships with CEO, staff, governing board, volunteers, donors and the general community · Specific functions for this position involve four main areas: · Advancing Constituent Engagement · Facilitating Individual Donor Development · Catalyzing Volunteer-Led fundraising · Building Fundraising Plans · Direct, supervise and manage the performance of staff in all constituent relationship areas to achieve organizational goals · Fulfill strategic initiatives in the areas of resource development. fundraising event[s] advancements/opportunities and overall volunteerism, including expansion of programs and services
Requirements

Required skills and experience: · 5+ years development experience, including working at a supervisory level with comparable staff and budget (successful major gift fundraising, donor cultivation and stewardship will be critical factors) · Demonstrated success in creating and implementing plans for significant growth in resource development · Proven ability to recruit, train, mentor and manage a high-performing team delivering excellent customer service · Knowledge of client relationship/data management software and a thorough understanding of its importance and potential · Ability to travel required (up to 30%)
Preferred: · Bachelor’s degree preferred
