Under the direct supervision of the ICU Director of Nursing service, the Charge Nurse assists the Director in assuring quality of patient care in the Intensive Care unit, the effective supervision and coordination of the operational activities related to the safe and effective delivery of patient care. The Critical Care nurse is a registered nurse that provides the highest quality care for all patients facing life-threatening conditions. The Critical Care nurse uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, and evaluate while providing care. The critical care nurse contributes to the achievement of optimal health outcomes for persons experiencing acute and life-threatening illness. The Critical Care nurse will follow the standards of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). This position provides direct patient care to adolescent, adult, geriatric patients. Minimum Education: Graduated Nursing School. Minimum Experience: At least one year. Required Certification/Registration: CA RN, BCLS, and ACLS. This position qualifies for a $10,000 sign on bonus paid out in three installments over a year's period for RN's with at least 3 years of previous ICU Charge Nurse experience within US. No outside recruiters please.
