KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Accesselectronicmedicalrecordcodingworklist.AssignappropriateICD9-CM,CPT-4codestoinpatient,samedaysurgery,observation,andacuterehabilitationchartswithin5daysof discharge.
2.Accesselectronicmedicalrecordcodingworklist.AssignappropriateICD9-CMandCPT-4codestooutpatientancillarypatientchartsincludingappropriatemodifierswithin5daysof discharge.
3.AbstractallcodedaccountsintheAS400MIRAcodingabstractapplicationandtransmitto
PatientFinancialServicesuponcompletion.
4. Utilizephysiciancodingqueryprocesswithintheelectronicmedicalrecordwhennecessaryfor physiciandocumentationclarification.
5.Demonstratedependabilityandteamworkbyfollowinghospitalanddepartmentalprocedures;controlsinterpersonaldifferences;promotesandadherestoKRMCBehavioralStandards;maintainspatientconfidentialityatalltimes.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Generalknowledgeofcomputers.Effectiveinterpersonalandcustomerrelationskills,throughboth
telephoneandface-tofacecontact.MedicalTerminology,AnatomyandPhysiology.

EDUCATION/LICENSURE:
Highschooldiplomaorequivalentrequired.
Completionofanaccreditedcodingprogramrequired.CCSorothercodingcertificationrequired.
