Description
The Preanalytical Specialist will work alongside the acute care Account Representatives, the Strategic Account manager and the PAS marketing team to enable the adoption of the blood, urine and tissue collection solutions in the province of Quebec. As a sales process leader and subject matter expert in specimen collection, your activities will directly support and drive account strategy, sales and market development.
The Preanalytical Specialist is instrumental in identifying, cultivating and managing relationships with key clinical and economic influencers within targeted accounts. The Preanalytical Specialist works collaboratively with the Account Representative in an effort to accelerate product sales while increasing account penetration and deepening the BD relationship.
This individual will hold responsibility for driving growth within the province of Quebec through:
Validating and accelerating growth opportunities within the current sales funnel by proactively leading the selection and development of accounts. Ensuring that the sales funnel is updated in an accurate and timely manner.
Responsible for developing and executing the Safety blood collection sales plan for the province
Identifying and enabling reference sites that demonstrate the BD Preanalytical Solutions value proposition
Developing relationships and gaining buy-in from Senior Clinical Influencers ie. Medical Lab Directors, Biochemists, Hematologists, Occupational Health Managers and Lab managers
In those accounts where a Strategic Account Manager is not present, promoting the BD PAS solutions value proposition to the executive influencers within the account
Coaching and mentoring account managers to achieve regional growth and retention goals for BD PAS products and solutions by encouraging discipline in the sales process and product knowledge
Working with the Clinical Project Manager to assist with qualifying and conversions to safety blood collection devices when needed
Alongside the Clinical Education Specialist, developing key relationships within key influencers in the Quebec laboratory market that will support the development of Key Opinion Leaders
Being accountable for meeting assigned budget goals
Providing formal and informal feedback to marketing including recommendations for new programs, strategies, support materials, product line extensions, etc.
Regularly attending BD PAS meetings and training sessions
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
Fluently bilingual in French and English
Must reside in the Montreal area
Broad clinical and sales experience (5 - 10 years), MLT or Nurse with experience in laboratory and blood collection environment. and business training would be assets.
Background in clinical education with practical experience would be preferred
Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision
Strong customer focus, problem solving capability and project management skills
Strong presentation skills
Ability to travel overnight 25-30% of the time
Sales Skills: Demonstrates high degree of learning agility and is a skilled "solutions" based sales professional - high proficiency in Conceptual Selling and Strategic Selling. Demonstrates expertise within the Canadian laboratory market. Strong territory management and organizational skills. Experience in a hospital environment in a customer facing role.
Sales Abilities: Demonstrates team selling skills. Proven success within a complex selling situation that engages executive decision makers (Directors, Chief of Nursing, etc.). Experience of selling a financial based justification such as ROI. Expertise with customer presentations - formal and informal.
Clinical Proficiency: Strong clinical understanding and/or background in laboratory techniques. Able to conduct Process and Gap surveillance for best practice. Current knowledge of regional and national issues impacting healthcare delivery.
Relationship Skills: Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills. Builds constructive and effective relationships. Excellent communication skills. Maintains and develops a network of coaches within their customer base. Is able to lead within a matrix sales organization and is seen as a strong team-player.
Business Acumen/Skills: Good understanding of current and possible future market trends, and how they might impact the Canadian laboratory market. Understands the drivers and organizational priorities within healthcare institutes and can discuss at a senior level. Has broad knowledge and perspective.
