Stonington Institute began serving recovering alcoholics in 1957 as Starlight Farms, a working farm where adults in recovery were introduced to the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous. Today, we are the longest continually operating, free-standing, voluntary treatment facility in New England. Our main campus is located in North Stonington, CT, in its original private and peaceful rural setting. We have additional clinical sites in Groton, CT. Transportation and off-campus housing assistance make our programs and services accessible to a statewide clientele. Those programs include: medical detoxification, rehabilitation/residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient treatment (both day and evening), and ambulatory detoxification. The Institute accepts private insurance, state-funded plans and self pay arrangements.
Full-time position responsible for day to day billing of client accounts, insurance verification, attendance posting, preparation of pre-certification forms, insurance and individual claims follow up and other common billing duties. Position involves communicating with clients about insurance as well as financial counseling regarding copay and upfront payment arrangements. Requirements
Prior medical billing experience required, electronic preferred. Prior experience with financial counseling, up-front payment arrangements and/or self-pay collections preferred. Accurate typing skills, plus knowledge of computers and medical billing software packages helpful.
