Behavioral Services Tech II-Residential Treatment Center
Assists patients in the development of individuality and appropriate methods of self-expression through promoting an environment in which the patient can problem-solve and test out new behaviors.
Assist the patients in acknowledging and accepting responsibility for psychological and behavioral patterns through providing feedback and positive reinforcement, consistently applying program rights and regulations and communicating in an appropriate manner with the patient.
Participate in admission procedures; orientates patient and family (significant others) to unit and program.
Escorts patients to ancillary departments for procedures. Provides appropriate emergency care and maintains a safe environment.
Educational: Preferred: A High School Diploma with two years experience as a Psych Tech or equivalent. A Bachelor's Degree in Human Service field or Graduate of a Psychiatric Assistant or Nurse Aide training program or five years experience in the Behavioral Health field.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Physical and mental health, emotional maturity and interpersonal competence. Demonstrated ability to affect planned change in a positive manner. Able to work with a multi disciplinary team. Able to appropriately resolve conflict and crisis situations. Demonstrated ability to seek opportunities for personal and professional growth. An understanding of normal and abnormal development across the life span.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Will obtain the following within six (6) months of employment: Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification First Aide Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting-APS- IA only Drug Free Workplace Department Specific competencies
Will obtain the following within six (6) months of employment: Medication Aide Certification BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO, must say "Professional Level-with AED", and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Other: Valid Chauffeurs license or Nebraska drivers license if needed for work related activity.
