JOB DESCRIPTION:
The runner is responsible for delivering/returning supplies, equipment, laboratory specimens and/or any other necessary items to and from the nursing units. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A. EDUCATION: High School graduate or GED equivalent is required.
B. EXPERIENCE: None required.
C. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: None Required.
D. EQUIPMENT/SKILLS: Must be able to follow directions and remember details. Must be able to work independently, prioritizing requests. Must be able to work well with others as a team member.
E. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Excessive walking, pushing carts, and climbing stairs is required. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and push carts weighing up to 50 lbs. in and out of elevators. May be exposed to blood and body fluids and infectious disease due to delivery of specimens to the laboratory.
F. OTHER: Must successfully complete the pre-employment/post job offer health screening and the annual screening each year thereafter as an employee.
