KEY FUNCTIONS
1. Sterilization Competency; ensures personal and Sterile Processing team competency in all aspects of multiple (5) sterilization processes, including use of proper procedures and process flow protocols, documentation accuracy, and facilitation of equipment repairs, 2. Instrumentation Competency; ensures personal and team competency in all aspects of instrumentation, including performance improvement/quality control, repair management, proper use of computer tracking system, and coordinates OR's daily instrumentation needs. 3. Personnel Management; assists Manager in the management of the Sterile Processing staff including the candidate selection process, orientation, coaching/counseling, continuing education, scheduling, productivity requirements, and Performance evaluation. 4. Financial Management; oversees supply ordering-identifies and implements opportunities for cost reduction and expense control, provides information to Manager for strategizing of future instrumentation/equipment needs.. 5. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Preferred: Certification in Sterile Processing from an American Hospital Association (AHA) or International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management (IAHCSMM) accredited program.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Five years experience in an Operating Room or Instrument Processing environment to include two years of Supervisory experience. Additional years of Supervisory, Operating Room Nurse or Surgical Technologist experience may be substituted for required education on a one-to-one basis.
