Description
Associate Scientist II
The Associate Scientist II (ASII) will perform a wide variety of assays and or tests required to characterize to client’s product or assess material safety. He/she will be required to make scientific observations, maintain detailed workbooks/documentation and ensure all documentation fulfills generally accepted professional/industry standards. Maintain a thorough understanding of BioReliance services, technical principles and applications.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks: Proficient in performing all routine and relevant laboratory techniques in compliance with BioReliance regulatory standards. Actively perform equipment and general housekeeping daily checks and notify relevant personnel of any issues. Perform standard and custom assays in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and all relevant documentation to cGMP standards. Actively review and improve working documents via document control. Prepare reagents and materials in alignment with the operational day to day schedule. Responsible for generating BRIQs event records as needed and participating in root cause analysis (RCA) activities. Follow appropriate material handling, tracking, and storage procedures in collaboration with cross-functional areas to ensure accurate chain of custody of test articles and critical materials. Actively maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work environment and adheres to all applicable safety SOPs Basic computer skills required Other duties as assigned by management
Department Specific Tasks: Perform peer review and analysis of raw data to ensure accuracy Follow aseptic techniques for all testing procedures Ensure adequate supplies of standard consumables/reagents are available within their designated area of responsibility
Supervision Received/Given: Given: None Received: Receives specific instructions on new/custom assignments and basic instructions on routine work. Able to perform at a high level with minimal direct supervision.
