Job Description: Sets up, operates, and troubleshoots anesthesia machines, monitors, and ancillary devices. Assists the licensed anesthesia provider with routine and difficult procedures by ensuring availability of the appropriate sterile supplies and medications. Responsible for maintenance of supplies and equipment in clinical settings such as: the surgical suite, obstetrics suite, radiology, PACU, ICU, Cath Lab, MRI, ER, GU, dental suites ambulatory surgery, animal and research laboratories. The Certified Anesthesia Technician has practical knowledge and expertise in all general areas of anesthesia.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED is required. At least two years of experience as an anesthesia technician, completion of department approved training program, and recommendation of Supervisor, Perioperative Support Services. Successful completion of certification examination requirements established by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians is preferred.
