Job Description Advanced Practioner Opportunity in York, PA
About the Position Under the general supervision of the Pulmonary Services Team Leader, provides respiratory therapy modalities to patients at an advanced skills level according to established standards and practices. The Advanced Practitioner functions as the highest skilled clinician in one or more functional areas including, but not limited to, critical care, NICU, pulmonary function, general care, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, skilled nursing/home care, and polysomnography.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:
Administers respiratory therapy modalities as per the physician, clinical practice guidelines, and/or clinical pathway; charts treatment, response and progress.
Performs patient assessment and develops a comprehensive pulmonary care plan.
Collaborates with the physician to manage the initiation, maintenance, and weaning of patients requiring ventilatory support.
Modifies therapy to maximize efficacy of the therapy regimen.
Maintains active and support communication with the patient regarding progress, problems, home programs and other issues related to the therapeutic process.
Provides quality care consistent with appropriate policies and procedures, quality assessment program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Assumes clinical leadership role for assigned core process area.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist
Strong communication skills and computer skills
