Job Description

The Administrative Dietitian is responsible for the operation, leadership, and management of all retail food service businesses. Utilizes critical thinking skills and advanced knowledge to implement best practices from the culinary arts, nutrition, and their integration into retail sales. The incumbent is also responsible for major department function, such as retail operations, catering, cafeteria, and Wasatch Canyons Behavioral Health Food Services.

Job Essentials:

• Provides value-based leadership to establish high functioning teams and operations in an accountable environment.
• Implements best practices to provide quality food service for patient and non-patient businesses, while adhering to regulatory guidelines.
• Develops department strategic plans, initiatives, and goals to improve efficiency. Assesses, designs, implements, and evaluates foodservice systems to initiate change and pursue excellence.
• Participates and communicates with staff and interdisciplinary committees to share information, resolve conflict, and provide excellent customer service and ensure continuous quality improvement and compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital requirements.
• Facilitates all human resource functions including: hiring, staffing, training, mentoring, evaluating, conflict resolution, constructive discipline and termination.
• Establishes financial objectives by assisting in budget planning, forecasting, revenue, and measuring productivity while maintaining a viable financial status.
• Facilitates and precepts dietetic and coordinated master's program students.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Medical Dietetics from an accredited institution. Education is verified.
• Registered with the Commission of Dietetic Registration.
• Certified Dietitian in the State of Utah (if not currently registered with the State of Utah, obtain certification within 30 days of hire).
• Three or more years of food service management, clinical dietetics or quality assurance.
• Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access.
• Current food handler's permit or willing to obtain upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nutrition or Medical Dietetics from an accredited institution. Education is verified.
• Clinical background specializing in Pediatrics
• Experience in a business or retail food service environment.
