JOB POSTING # 670669 Position: Administrative coordinator I Site: Toronto General Hospital Department: Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery Reports to: Manager Hours: 37.5 hours per week Status: PFT (Permanent Full-Time) As amember of the Department of Otolaryngology H&N Surgery, the responsibilities of the ADMINISTRATIVE Coordinator/Department Manager include: managing departmental operating budgets; coordinating and facilitating and auditing financial billing and payment activities; providing direct supervision for assigned personnel; ensuring the efficient operation of the department; preparing statistics for, and conducting audits of departmental activities; performing cross-functional and other duties, as assigned and/or requested. Duties and Responsibilities to include, but not limited to: Supervisory Responsibilities - Provides direct supervision for assigned staff; organizes, supervises and evaluates the workload of assigned staff; communicates and disseminates relevant information to staff through meetings, memoranda and/or other appropriate communication mediums Financial Processing Activities - Working with the department’s auditor and accounting service, prepares and maintains departmental budget and reconciliation statements, including compiling budgetary reports etc.; coordinates and completes financial billing and payment activities; ensures the efficient operation of the office; performs cross-functional duties and other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned and/or requested QUALIFICATIONS: • Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent required. • Completion of a recognized medical or business post secondary office administration diploma program, or recognized equivalent, with formal training in basic accounting- required. • Completion of an Undergraduate University Degree-preferred • Five (5) yearsrelated office administration support experiencerequired. • Previous on-the-job computer/word-processing, database and spreadsheet software experience required. • Previous supervisory experience preferred. • Experience in a Microsoft Office environment required. • Experience working in a health care environment is required POSTED DATE: January 17, 2012
