11500 TECHNICAL SPECIALIST 3770 Job Code: 3770 Department: 11500 CLIN LAB CYTOGENETICS Pay Grade: 43 Schedule: Full Time Shift: DAYS Hours: 0800-1630 Job Details: * Position Summary: Oversees the daily operation of a given laboratory section to ensure the precise and reproductibility of laboratory test results in accordance with accreditation standards and guidelines. Position Requirements: Minimum Education: Required: Bachelors Degree Minimum Experience: Required: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience Preferred: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience Licensure/Certifications: Required: Laboratory - Certified Medical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technician (ASCP or NCA),Laboratory - Registered Histotechnician (ASCP) Preferred: Laboratory - Certified Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, laboratory discipline specific or specialty certificate (ASCP or NCA),Laboratory - Certified Clinical Laboratory Specialist in Cytogenetics (NCA),Laboratory - Certified Electron Microscopy Technologist,Laboratory - Registered Histotechnologist (ASCP) Position Responsibilities: Oversees the daily operations of the section to effectively utilize resources including staff, equipment, space and supplies. Miantains the departmental quality assurance program to ensure regulatory compliance and test quality. Performs all laboratory testing, including the pre-examination phase in accordance with standard operating procedures and accreditation guidelines to support the delivery of patient care. Collaborates with the medical director, manager and faculty in the development of new procedures or programs.
