The Corporate Communications Specialist will be responsible for assisting the marketing department in writing materials for both internal and external publications. The ideal candidate has a strong writing ability, works well under pressure and can generate copy quickly. The position demands a high quality of written work. The main responsibilities would include developing corporate communications, editing copy, brainstorming marketing ideas, crafting branding messages and assisting in marketing campaign creation. The intern would collaborate with all NEXT departments to assist in communications or developing website copy as well as helping NEXT representatives develop marketing materials for client use. The Corporate Communications Specialist will also have the opportunity to work on a New York Times bestselling author marketing and speaking campaign. NEXTs CEO was listed on the New York Times bestselling authors list in summer 2012. The Corporate Communications Specialist must also have a thorough understanding of the AP style when writing press releases on events or newsworthy items. The Corporate Communications Specialist would be involved in a majority of corporate projects and looked at as an integral member of the team. Responsibilities: -Write press releases, internal communications and external communications -Edit corporate copy -Research communities, media contacts, news topics and marketing ideas for effective implementation of events or stories -Coordinating material with other departments for congruent information throughout company -Help implement and develop social media campaigns on both the corporate and representative levels -Assist in creating representative material requests such as press releases, brochures, blast emails, website content, bios and articles -Report directly to supervisor and work with team to implement tasks Qualifications: -Must have four-year degree in public relations, communications, marketing or related field -Must have excellent writing and communication skills -Ability to work under pressure and use creative thinking to develop marketing materials -Proficient in MS Word and AP Style -Must be detail-oriented and highly organized -Comfortable pitching to media contacts -Team-oriented -Independent worker Candidates must pass a drug screen and background check.
