Job Summary:
The Cash Applications Supervisor (CAS) is responsible for accurately and efficiently handling all electronic and paper payments and for ensuring that all payments received are posted to the appropriate account and deposited in a timely manner. The CAS will manage cash applications and support services staff and ensure cash controls relative to cash posting, research, credit balance resolution, and accounts receivable reconciliation exist. The CAS will utilize existing technologies to the fullest to ensure revenue optimization and operations are efficient (e.g., 835 remittances and lockbox technology). The CAS will develop collaborative relationships with internal and external clients and other departments within SRMC to address issues related to cashiering, accounts receivable, refunds, and escheatment processing. Additionally, the CAS also manages the staff and processes associated with analytics, metrics, scanning and indexing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Business or related discipline is required.
Strong knowledge of cash applications, accounting principles, and healthcare management in a hospital or multi-facility setting required.
Three years supervisory experience in a Patient Accounts setting required.
CPAR certification preferred.
Personal Computer, phone, adding machine, fax, copier and printer experience required.
Basic knowledge of standard Microsoft Office software including document, spreadsheet and database applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills.
