Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Medical Records Coder with Lead or Management Experience to join our team in the East coast area.
* This is a 50% travel position
Job Responsibilities:
Delivers both front office and back office support for providers in a physician practice environment. Assists providers in increasing performance by aligning clinical and administrative strategies, while improving the quality of patient care. Focus is on helping clients optimize operations, improve cash flow and strengthen their financial position, enabling them to transform their clinical processes and focus on delivery of quality patient care.
Physical requirements may include moderate lifting of files, pushing up to 100 pounds on a cart. Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, push and pull. Involves sitting at a keyboard at least 8 hours per day.
Will be responsible to code and abstract information from a variety of medical records and assign appropriate codes based on medical documentation using CPT-4 and/or ICD-9 standards and following strict coding guidelines within established productivity standards for all accounts assigned.
Addresses billing/coding related inquires for providers as needed.
Mentors more junior team members.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Responsible for attending meetings and inservices to enhance coding knowledge, compliance skills, and maintenance of credentials.
Must maintain a multi-specialty certification.
Responsibilities include the education, teaching, auditing and reporting with physicians, specialists, clinicians, and residency program and faculty.
This position will demonstrate proficiency in accurately coding services across multi-specialties and service locations within the Group.
Required Skills:
3 plus years of certified coding experience
Lead and/or management experience
Experience in a physician practice environment
Desired Skills:
Ability to build successful business relationships
Ability to manage a team successfully
Minimum Certifications or Other Professional Credentials:
Certified Medical Coder (current certification)
